Hi gang,
As you may have seen on my blog, I've stuffed up a bit with Comicster.
Comicster is signed with a "code-signing certificate", which I created myself. It's kind of a way to guarantee that when you update the program, you're getting a version that was created by the same guy as the version you're presently running.
Anyway, turns out that these certificates only last a year, and you're supposed to renew them (a bit of a joke since they're self-created) before they expire. Mine expired in July.
So unless I hear back from Microsoft with some kind of work-around, this means that the next version of Comicster won't show up in your automatic "check for updates" feature. Instead, you'll have to uninstall the current version (I think that's 1.0.2.6) and install the next version as if it's a new program.
This, of course, won't affect your collection file - it's completely separate from the program. It might, however, mean that you'll need to download your thumbnails again.
Is that gonna royally piss anyone off? I'm really sorry about this - I will be more careful about reminding myself about pending certificate expiry in the future!
