    Skins and Updates

    Hey Mabs,

I was wondering if you could update the Skins help post. I noticed that the new #filename and #location hooks weren't in there. I'm not sure if there are others missing as well. It's been awhile and I was hoping to update my skins. Currently, they don't seem to be displaying correctly when I load them up with the newer versions of Comicster.

Secondly, I was looking around for a forum post of some sort that links to all the usable skins being created. I know there's some of them in the forums thread, but I was hoping for a single place that listed them all, as well as what version they supported. Any thoughts on making a sticky post that has the links to the Skins, sans discussions, thanks and whatever else might fill up a thread? I could also see a link on your main site to different skins people have created and screenshots to them. I thought about this when I reinstalled Comicster on the new computer and wanted to see what skins I could pick from. Just a thought.

    Cheers.

    I'd rather fall than sit.

Yeah, I really need to formalize the skin discovery and download system in some way.

Perhaps I could just set up a Comicster wiki and let people edit it as they see fit? Then we could have a skins wiki page and people could add links to their own (be it on the forums or hosted on their own site).

Changing the default skin is a bit complex, delsin2. Are you using the default one, or one of the custom skins from this forum?

It might be easier to simply wait for me to get my act together and update the default skin officially. Smile

Yeah the default skin is a pain to modify, because Comicster gets installed to a hidden directory buried deep within your C:\Documents and Settings folder.

Have you checked out any of the skins you can download in this forum? There are some pretty awesome user-created skins here.

Otherwise gimme a few days and I'll get the default skin updated to include Location (that's what you're after, right?).
